About the Band
The Kings of Old is a rock band from Lexington, South Carolina, led by principal songwriter and guitarist Mike Bremer. With a sound rooted in classic and modern rock, the band crafts atmospheric, thought-provoking songs that explore the hidden forces shaping human experience.
Mike picked up the guitar at age 16 and taught himself to play, channeling raw passion and relentless curiosity into his music. After studying at the University of South Carolina, he began honing the songs that would become the foundation of The Kings of Old. Now, he is completing the band’s debut album—a powerful conceptual work that examines how humanity has been subtly blinded and drawn toward destruction. The album is to be a modern parable of deception, free will, and the gravitational pull of darkness, framed through vivid storytelling and emotional intensity.
The debut album paints a haunting portrait of a world hurtling toward a black hole of its own making—where truth is obscured, choices carry cosmic weight, and redemption remains a flickering possibility. Bremer’s songwriting blends soaring melodies, driving riffs, and introspective lyrics to create music that feels both timeless and urgently relevant.
The Kings of Old are currently finishing recording and look forward to sharing this first body of work with the world. Rooted in the Midlands of South Carolina but writing for anyone wrestling with the unseen battles of our time, the band invites listeners to confront the shadows and seek the light.
